The Leveque Problem

In this video series we will look at the Leveque problem. This is a classical chemical engineering problem that focuses on analyzing the temperature profile produced under forced convection in the vicinity of the entry region of a pipe. Because the temperature profile is very local to the surface of the channel we can model this process in a semi-infinite domain. Watch the videos to learn how we can derive a similarity transform for this problem and solve it to yield a different type of integral expression: the gamma function.
